Lat14 is an Asian restaurant with a focus on the 14th Parallel. The restaurant includes dishes from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and the Philippians. The menu categories are Small plates, fried rice, noodles and Lat14 Signature dishes. I was able to visit this restaurant twice.
On the first visit I ordered one of the Signature dishes – Creamy Tom Yum Ramen. It was delicious! The ramen was homemade and was nothing like the packets of ramen in the grocery store! This ramen was tender and flavorful. The dish was a little spicy which was not mentioned in the menu, but it wasn’t to hot for me and I enjoyed every bite.
I shared a side of the fried garlic green beans. They were true to the name with lots of garlic (I love that garlic!) and had a crunchy bite. My Son ordered the Aw Gai which he enjoyed very much. It fit with the no carb diet he was following at the time.

My second visit to Lat14 was with my Family. This is one of my Son and Daughter in Law’s favorite places to eat. We started with two small plates (appetizers) to share- Lumpia- Filipino Pork Eggrolls and Snow Crab Wontons. The egg rolls were fun- long, narrow and tasted were really good. I especially like the sweet chili dipping sauce. The Wontons were good- much like I have had at other restaurants.
The Server guided us when ordering the entrees because the spice level is not indicated on the menu and my husband does not like any hot spice. He ordered the Steak Laab which is the only item on the menu that is not spicy. He also ordered a side of sticky rice (rice is not included). He said that the steak was good, but very small and he left still a bit hungry.

Our Son and Daughter in Law shared an order of Jaew Bong fried rice and Creamy Tom Yum Ramen which are their favorite dishes at this restaurant. It sounded like it is still one of their favorites!

I decided on the Aw Gai (my Son ordered this on the first visit) – a Lao Style Stew with chicken thighs, wood ear mushroom, dill and eggplant. I really enjoyed the dish. It was a little spicy, but not too much for me. The chicken was very tender.

We shared a side of the Fried Garlic Green Beans again and not disappointed!
The atmosphere was comfortable with a medium noise level for easy conversation although some of the tables are pretty close together. The prices range $10.00 – $36.00. The service was friendly and we did not wait an overly long time for the food to arrive. Overall I rated this restaurant an 8 out of 10. I enjoyed dinning at Lat14, but diners who do not like spicy hot food may not share the enjoyment.
