This restaurant is located in Columbia Heights, MN. There are actually 2 locations- Columbia Heights and NE Minneapolis in MN. We found out about this restaurant from a family member who planned to celebrate their 1 year old’s birthday at Football Pizza. The party unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of the COVID-19, but restaurants were still open that time. My husband and I decided to go there for lunch because the food looked very interesting on the website.
This is a perfect place for a kid’s party! It has a stage which includes a microphone and drums. It also has a couple of seats that look like cars. The restaurant is set-up with counter service for placing your order and then the food is brought to you.

We ordered hummus and bread- both flat and pita as an appetizer, but it ended up coming after our main course. That turned out ok because it was nice to add the hummus on my meat. Both of the breads were really stale which was surprising since it looked like we were one of the first customers of the day.

My husband had the meat lover’s pizza which was very good. This thin crusted yummy pizza included gyro, beef and chicken meat. The gyro meat was a fun change for us! The beef and chicken were good, but my favorite was the gyro meat.

I ordered the gyro and rice diner. I loved it! The meat was very good and the rice was excellent. I’m typically not a big rice eater unless it is part of a main dish. I was very surprised how much I liked the rice. It came with a salad which turned out to be just ice berg lettuce without any dressing- a little disappointing.

The service was friendly and the food came quickly even though it didn’t come in the order that I assumed. A great place for a kid’s party and the food is good especially the pizza and gyro meat. Overall I would give this restaurant 7 out of 10. I certainly would be happy to eat there again, but may not make an effort unless I lived in the immediate area or invited to a birthday party!
