I was feeling pretty good about making bread so I decided to branch out to hamburger buns. I tried a recipe from American’s Test Kitchen (love that show!) the 2016 Season. It looked like a recipe that I could tackle. This one brought me back to reality! Mastering the art of making bread or buns is not an easy one for me. The buns turned out ok. My husband thought they tasted much better than ok. They were overcooked especially the buns topped with sesame seeds. For some reason, the buns topped with seeds did not brown like the plain buns. I will try this recipe again, but take them out of the oven between the times listed on the recipe. The buns do freeze well. They can be defrosted in the microwave and the outcome is like they were just baked.
I won’t share the entire recipe with directions because I followed it without any improvising. If you are interested in making these buns, go to the website https://www.americastestkitchen.com/ . You will need to sign up for 2 weeks of free access, but it will be worth it. They have a recipe for everything you would ever want to cook along with equipment reviews and more.
